Instrumental

The Arrowhead Union High School Instrumental Music Department is comprised of four curricular concert bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony & Concert Band), one curricular orchestra (Chamber Strings), Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble-Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble-Brass Choir, one curricular jazz ensemble (North Jazz Band), one voluntary jazz ensemble (South Jazz Band), a voluntary 100-member marching band, and a voluntary pep band. The AHS Instrumental Music department provides opportunities for all students at all ability levels.

Members participate in festivals, performances, and WSMA State Honors ensembles, and WSMA solo and ensemble opportunities at an extremely high level. Students of the Instrumental Music Department also excel in academics, athletics, and other activities within the Arrowhead High School community. In support of the Arrowhead High School tradition, the instrumental program strives for excellence through its quality of performance and high standards.

The AHS Music Department performed a world premiere of "I Am" at the 2011 Spring Concert. A first-ever commissioned work for Choral Ensemble (Broadway Company), Wind Ensemble, and Chamber Strings by composer Carl Holmquist.
